A sparkling night of comedy & cabaret!
Presented by Social Ventures Australia
Thursday 20 July 2006
7pm for 7:30 pm start
Swan Lake Sudios, 12 Ellis Street, South Yarra
SVA is holding its annual dinner in Melbourne on 20 July 2006
called SVA Illuminate. It will be a sparkling night of comedy and cabaret featuring
outstanding stand-up comic LAWRENCE MOONEY and brilliant ROBBIE WILLIAMS impersonator
Louie Lee Feltren.
This year SVA will showcase the social firm. With increased focus on mental
illness in Australia, the social firm is a real business with both social and
economic objectives. It provides employment to people with a mental illness
or other disadvantage in a supportive integrated working environment. The social
firm is a living demonstration of the commercial and social sectors coming together
to create an innovative solution for those furthest from the job market.
SVA Illuminate promises to be a great opportunity to entertain colleagues and
clients, with a night of fun and fine dining as well as inspiring stories as
we shine a light on some of SVA’s ventures. Tables of 10 are $5,200 ($3,000
is a tax deductible as a donation) which includes a fabulous 3 course dinner
and beverages. Limited individual tickets are also available. All funds raised
go towards supporting our work with innovative social ventures as we continue
to help create sustainable social change.
Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a national venture philanthropy organisation
that provides financial and strategic resources to social entrepreneurs to help
grow their programs to create sustainable social change. SVA leverages the best
practices of the business world with the passion of engaged philanthropy to
support these vital members of society who are focused on finding new solutions
to issues in areas such as youth education, indigenous, social enterprise and
the environment. SVA does this through providing funding, mentoring and tools
that are tied to achieving tangible, socially-based results. This has ultimately
raised the bar for social investment in Australia.
